Data mining techniques assist managers using large volumes of data to make informed business decisions. This Workshop provides an opportunity for you to develop an understanding of how data mining techniques give you the ability to carry out meaningful and intelligent analysis of data. It also provides an opportunity for hands-on experimentation for data mining using RapidMiner (Open Source).
The Workshop will cover data mining algorithms for prediction, classification, clustering, association mining and text mining. You will also learn how the data mining techniques can be utilised in various applications such as Market analysis and Management, Financial Industry & Banking, and Healthcare Industry.

Facilitator: Dr. Xujuan Zhou (http://staffprofile.usq.edu.au/profile/Xujuan-Zhou) is teaching and researching at the School of Management & Enterprise, University of Southern Queensland, Australia. Information Systems and Management, Sentiment Analysis, and Social Network Analysis are Dr. Xujuan’s research focus. Dr. Xujuan, who has about a decade of experience, is an active member of International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
